Dear Amherst Esperantistoj,

My name is Abraham Palmer and I am contacting you to ask your help to get
the word out to the Esperantists in your network about the upcoming
national Esperanto conference (Landa Kongreso), which will take place this
year at William Peace University in Raleigh, NC from 30 June to 3 July
2017. I am part of the conference planning committee and we are putting
together an exciting program of speakers and activities which will be
great, but will be so much better if we share it with more people.

We will have a beginners’ track (for Duolingo lerners as well as
traditional learners) as well as sessions for fluent Esperanto speakers.
The keynote speaker this year will be Dr. Humphrey Tonkin, who is the past
president of the World Esperanto Association (UEA) who will present “An
Esperanto Agenda for North America.”

This year we will offer the KER Exams at levels B1, B2 and C1. Katalin
Kovats, who runs the website, Edukado.net <http://www.edukado.net/> will
join us from The Netherlands to administer the exams. Click here for
information on the KER Exams <http://www.edukado.net/ekzamenoj/ker>.

There will be excursions, games, an evening of entertainment (so bring your
musical instruments and talents), interesting talks and a time to enjoy
being with old and new Esperanto friends.

And don’t forget that NASK (the summer Esperanto language workshop) will
take place immediately after the convention at William Peace University.
Sign up for both if you can!

*Visit the conference website <https://landakongreso.org/en/schedule/> for
details on the schedule of events and speakers.*

*You can help by:*

1. Confirming that you are the right contact person for your state or
region and updating your contact information with me

2. Passing this note along to whoever you think will be interested
(Your local club, your Facebook friends, etc.)

3. Signing up for the convention and asking your Esperanto friends to
do so too (The deadline for early registration is 25 March. Register (now)
at Esperanto-usa.org <http://www.esperanto-usa.org/>)

4. Let us know that you would like to speak, lead games, play a song,
introduce a speaker or do something that fits with your talents and
interests.

5. Suggest who you would like to hear speak. We have a few sessions
still open

6. Spreading the word (and the conference web address) as widely as
you can

Thanks for your help and we do hope we will see you at the conference.

Amike,

Abraham Palmer
